Meet Dash, your in-app copilot

The chat assistant behind the ? button: it answers questions about your own shop's data, reads screenshots and files you send it, walks you to the right page, and — for managers — changes settings with your approval.

AI & automations13 in this section

Dash lives behind the ? button in the bottom-right corner of every dashboard page — open Help & Support and switch to the Ask Dash tab. Unlike a generic chatbot, Dash is grounded in two things: this help center (so it cites the exact article that answers you) and your own shop's data — ask “how many quotes are still open?”, “which invoices are unpaid?”, “what film is running low?”, or “is the Win-Back Agent on?” and it answers from live records, scoped to your active shop.

Ask a question, get a cited answer — and approve changes right in the chat.

What Dash can do

Ask it to…Who canWhat happens
Answer questions about your dataEveryoneOpen quotes, unpaid invoices, low stock, agent status — answered from your shop's live records.
Look at a screenshot or fileEveryoneAttach it (or just paste a screenshot) and ask — Dash reads images, PDFs, spreadsheets and documents and answers about what's in them.
Take you to the right screenEveryoneA button appears under the answer. It never navigates on its own — you tap when you're ready.
Change a settingManagers onlyAgents, delivery mode, per-agent instructions, shop voice, opening hours, scheduling strategy, online booking, the automated-texting and automations master switches, a service's price or online visibility, a new lead or service, a Shop Memory fact — each proposed as an approval card.

Dash never changes anything directly from chat. When it wants to act, it queues the change and shows an approval card in the conversation — nothing runs until you tap Approve. Each card shows the before and after values, so you're approving numbers you can see rather than a sentence you have to trust. The approval re-checks your live permissions at click time and re-validates the request before executing, so a stale card can't sneak a change through, and every proposed change and its outcome is logged. Techs can ask Dash anything, but settings changes are manager-only — Dash will explain rather than act.

Some changes are wide and quiet — switching off automated texting, pausing every automation, taking the booking storefront down, moving a price, hiding a service, putting an agent on autopilot. Those cards are marked in red and ask a second time before they run, because nothing on screen would remind you the next morning. Everything else asks once.

For 15 minutes after a settings change runs, the card offers Undo — one tap puts the old value back. Undo runs through exactly the same checks as the original change, so it can't reach past a decision you've since made on purpose. Creations (a new lead, a new service, a saved fact) have no Undo, because Dash never deletes anything; retire those from the page they live on.

Sending Dash a file. Tap the paperclip, drag a file onto the message box, or just paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac) — up to 4 files, 6 MB in total, per message. Images, PDFs (up to 12 pages), spreadsheets, and Word/text documents all work. Photos are shrunk in your browser before they're sent, so it stays quick on shop wi-fi. Attachments are read once, in the moment: they are never stored, and Dash can't look at them again on the next message — so if something matters, it will put it in its answer. A message with attachments costs 1 extra AI credit per image or PDF page on top of the usual question.

Dash is configured from AI Agents like the rest of the crew: give it extra instructions (things to emphasize or avoid) and use its allow changes switch to decide whether it may propose settings changes at all. Your shop voice shapes its tone too.

Zero extra setup

Dash runs on the platform's Anthropic key — the one your deployment already requires for every AI feature. No Twilio, no extra subscription, no per-shop configuration needed before you can start asking.

Troubleshooting

Dash answers questions but never offers to change anything.

Why: Its allow-changes switch is off, or you don't hold the manager permission.

Fix: A manager can flip the allow-changes switch on Dash's page under /agents; techs are read-only by design.

I tapped Approve and the change failed.

Why: Your permissions changed since the card was created, or the request no longer passes validation — approvals re-check everything at click time.

Fix: Ask Dash again to generate a fresh card, or make the change directly on the settings page it linked.

Dash says it can't read the file I sent.

Why: It's past a chat limit (4 files, 6 MB, 12 PDF pages), or it's a format the app doesn't read — a .doc or .xls from 2003, a password-protected file.

Fix: Dash tells you which one in its reply. Re-save an old Office file as .docx or .xlsx, split a long PDF, or — for a full price list — use Services → Import, which is built for documents of any length.

I asked Dash about a screenshot I sent earlier and it doesn't remember it.

Why: By design: an attachment is read on the message it arrives with and is never stored.

Fix: Attach it again with the new question. Anything Dash noticed the first time is still in its earlier reply.

The Undo button is gone.

Why: The 15-minute window has passed, or the change was a creation — Dash never deletes, so new leads, services and saved facts have no Undo.

Fix: Ask Dash to change it back (it'll queue a fresh approval card), or edit it on the page it lives on.

Dash's answer about my data looks out of date.

Why: It answers from the records in your active shop — if you run multiple shops, you may be asking in the wrong one.

Fix: Check the shop switcher in the sidebar, then ask again.

Common questions

Can Dash change a setting without me approving it?

No. Every change Dash proposes becomes an Approve / Dismiss card, and only your explicit tap on Approve executes it — the tap itself re-checks that you're still allowed to make that change.

Why does Dash link help articles in its answers?

It's grounded in this help center: when an article covers your question, Dash cites it so you can read the full walkthrough instead of trusting a summary.

Are my screenshots stored anywhere?

No. An attachment is read on the message it arrives with and then it's gone — no file in storage, no row in a table, nothing to find later. That's also why Dash can't refer back to it on the next message.

Can something written inside a file I upload tell Dash what to do?

No. Everything inside an attachment is treated as content to read about, never as an instruction — a screenshot that says "turn off the review agent" is a screenshot Dash describes, not a request it acts on. And it couldn't act on it anyway: every change still becomes a card only you can approve.

Can Dash delete something, refund a customer, or change who's on my team?

No, and it isn't a setting you can switch on. Dash proposes configuration and catalog changes only — nothing that deletes, nothing that touches payments or billing, nothing that changes team members or permissions, and nothing that sends a message to a customer.
