Square integration

Keep the Square Terminal. Stop typing the ticket twice.

If your counter already runs on Square hardware, none of that has to change. Service VIN sends the itemized ticket to your own Square Terminal straight from the invoice, and the sale settles the job on its own — so the terminal keeps taking the money and the job stops needing a second entry.

The short answer

What does the Square integration actually do?

  • Where it stands: Beta.
  • Which way the data moves: Two-way sync.
  • Charge a job on your Square Terminal, itemized, from the invoice
  • Terminal sales settle open invoices automatically — no manual matching
  • Your Square sales history mirrored onto customer files

Bottom line: Square is in beta: the in-person Terminal rail and the sales-history mirror work today, opt-in per shop through a Square sign-in. Online card payments are not part of this connector — those run on Stripe.

Why connect Square

Already on Square? Keep the terminal, skip the double entry.

For shops standardized on Square hardware — put an itemized ticket on your own Square Terminal straight from the invoice, and have those in-person sales reconcile themselves against Service VIN jobs.

  • The ticket, itemized, on your terminal

Send a job's line items to your own Square Terminal straight from the invoice, so the customer sees what they're paying for instead of one lump total.

  • Terminal sales settle the invoice

A completed Terminal sale closes the open invoice against the job it belongs to. No end-of-day matching of Square payouts to Service VIN work.

  • Your Square history on the customer file

Sales you've already taken in Square are mirrored onto the customer's record, so the file shows what they've spent with you — not just what they've spent here.

  • Pull it forward when you need it

Square is one of the connectors with a manual sync, so you can bring the history up to date before a call instead of waiting for the next scheduled pass.

What ships

What you can do once it’s connected

  • 01Charge a job on your Square Terminal, itemized, from the invoice
  • 02Terminal sales settle open invoices automatically — no manual matching
  • 03Your Square sales history mirrored onto customer files

How it works

Setting it up, in order

  1. Connect Square in settings

Sign in to Square from the integrations settings and authorize Service VIN. It's a per-shop connection, and disconnecting it is one click.

  2. Pick the terminal

Choose which of your Square devices a charge should go to. A connection made before Terminal support shipped is asked to reconnect rather than failing the first charge silently — the check reads the permissions Square actually granted, not the ones we hoped for.

  3. Charge from the invoice

Open the invoice, send it to the terminal, and take the card the way you always have. The sale comes back and settles the invoice against the job.

FAQ

Square, answered

Does Service VIN work with Square?

Yes — a Square connection is available in beta. You can push a job's itemized ticket to your own Square Terminal from the invoice, and those in-person sales settle the open invoice automatically. Your existing Square sales history is mirrored onto customer files. It's an opt-in, per-shop connection you authorize with a Square sign-in.

Can customers pay online through Square?

No. Online card payments and the pay-by-link on a quote or invoice run on Stripe. Square here is the in-person rail — the terminal on your counter — plus the sales history behind it. The two are kept separate on purpose, so neither pretends to do the other's job.

Do I have to give up my Square hardware?

No, and that's the whole point of the connector. The terminal stays where it is and keeps taking cards. What changes is that the ticket arrives on it itemized from the job, and the payment comes back and closes the invoice.

What happens to sales I took in Square before connecting?

They're mirrored onto the customer files they match, so a record shows the work you did for someone before Service VIN as well as after. It's a read of your Square history — connecting doesn't move money or change anything on the Square side.

The call you missed is the job you lost.

Every missed call answered in seconds. The quote you promised, drafted before you hang up. Booked straight into your calendar.

It answers from your real services, your real prices and your real calendar — and writes the booking into them. No migration, no data to move — it runs beside whatever you use today.
