Xero integration
Your invoices in Xero, without the second keyboard.
The accounting sync is the same one QuickBooks shops get, pointed at your Xero ledger instead. Invoices raised on a job land in Xero, and contacts are matched to the ones you already have — so the books follow the shop floor rather than chasing it.

The short answer
What does the Xero integration actually do?
- Where it stands: Beta.
- Which way the data moves: Two-way sync.
- Invoices sync to Xero
- Contacts matched to your existing ledger
- Payments sync and COGS mapping rolling out
Bottom line: Xero is in beta: invoice and contact sync work today, with payment sync and COGS mapping still rolling out. It's opt-in per shop through a Xero sign-in, and disconnecting drops the tokens and stops the sync.
Why connect Xero
Prefer Xero? Same sync, your ledger.
The QuickBooks flow, pointed at Xero — invoices and contacts kept in step with your books.
Invoices sync to Xero
An invoice you raise on a job becomes a Xero invoice without anyone re-keying it. The double entry that eats an afternoon each month stops happening.
Contacts matched to your ledger
Customers are matched against the contacts already in Xero rather than piled in beside them, so the ledger doesn't end up holding the same person three times.
Payments and COGS mapping next
Payment sync and cost-of-goods mapping are the next pieces of the beta. When they land, the film cost Service VIN already tracks per job can reach your profit and loss.
Sync now, or leave it to the schedule
Xero is one of the connectors with a manual sync, so you can push a batch across before your bookkeeper opens the file instead of waiting for the next pass.

How it works
Setting it up, in order
Connect Xero in settings
Sign in to Xero from the integrations settings and authorize Service VIN for this shop. The grant covers the accounting surfaces the sync needs — transactions and contacts — and nothing else.
Line it up with your chart of accounts
Confirm once how invoices and contacts should map into the ledger you already keep. The sync follows those rules from then on.
Invoice in Service VIN, reconcile in Xero
Keep quoting and invoicing where the job lives. What reaches Xero is a record to reconcile, not a form to fill in a second time.

FAQ
Xero, answered
Does Service VIN integrate with Xero?
Yes — a Xero connection is available in beta. Invoices and contacts sync from Service VIN into your Xero ledger today, and payment sync plus cost-of-goods mapping are still rolling out. It's an opt-in, per-shop connection you authorize with a Xero sign-in and can revoke in one click.
Will it duplicate contacts I already have?
No. Contacts are matched against the ones already in your ledger where they exist and created cleanly where they don't, so a regular customer stays one record rather than becoming three.
Does film cost reach my profit and loss?
Not yet. Cost-of-goods mapping is the part of the beta that is still rolling out. Service VIN already costs film to the foot on the job itself, so the number exists — what's still being built is the posting that carries it into Xero.
Xero or QuickBooks?
Whichever your accountant actually works in. Both connectors run the same accounting sync pointed at a different ledger, and there is one set of books worth keeping — the job, the quote and the film cost live in Service VIN either way.
Is it safe to connect my accounting software?
The connection uses OAuth scoped to the accounting surfaces the sync needs, and the tokens are encrypted at rest with a key kept out of the database. Each shop's connection is isolated from every other shop's, and disconnecting drops the tokens and stops the sync immediately.
