Quotes
quotes.set_status
REST
ShippingPOST /api/v1/quotes/set_statusMCP tool
Livequotes.set_statusExposed on: REST API · Shop MCP server · Claude connector · Dash (in-app copilot) · Zapier. Part of the Quotes domain.
Operating contract
Records an outcome that happened somewhere else — the customer accepted over the phone, or declined by email — by moving the quote's status.
IT DOES NOT DO WHAT THE STATUS DESCRIBES. Setting sent does not send anything; quotes.send does. Setting accepted records the customer's answer; it does not build the job, take a deposit, or reserve stock.
Statuses are a closed set — call quotes.statuses. Setting the status a quote is already at is a no-op and returns it unchanged.
The matching timestamp is stamped with it, so accepted_at, declined_at and sent_at stay in step with the status rather than drifting from it.
Who may call it
- Permission
quotes.accessThe caller must hold Quotes at the ACT level. A read-only dashboard grant on the same section is refused.- Plan
- Every planNo plan gate. Available on every Service VIN plan.
- Retries
naturalNaturally idempotent — running it twice leaves the same world as running it once. A retrying integration needs no key.- Rate class
writeCounted against the write budget, which is tighter than a read.
