Quotes
quotes.extend_validity
REST
ShippingPOST /api/v1/quotes/extend_validityMCP tool
Livequotes.extend_validityExposed on: REST API · Shop MCP server · Claude connector · Dash (in-app copilot) · Zapier. Part of the Quotes domain.
Operating contract
Sets valid_until, the date the quoted price stops being honoured. The customer portal refuses to approve a quote past it, so this is what unblocks a send that quotes.send_status reported as lapsed.
A DATE, NOT A TIMESTAMP, and it is read in the SHOP's timezone — 'valid until the 12th' means the whole of the 12th where the shop is. Send YYYY-MM-DD.
It must be in the future. Extending is what this is for; shortening a live quote to today is not, and is refused, because a price a customer is looking at should not vanish under them.
Extending does NOT re-price anything. The lines and totals are exactly what they were; only the deadline moves.
Who may call it
- Permission
quotes.accessThe caller must hold Quotes at the ACT level. A read-only dashboard grant on the same section is refused.- Plan
- Every planNo plan gate. Available on every Service VIN plan.
- Retries
naturalNaturally idempotent — running it twice leaves the same world as running it once. A retrying integration needs no key.- Rate class
writeCounted against the write budget, which is tighter than a read.
